Designed in collaboration with Nigh Collective, the Scaffold Lamp takes inspiration from paper lanterns, emulating the effect of a grid cage tightly wrapped in paper. This allows for it to juxtapose the repetitive, structured pattern with playful curves, present in the shade on a large scale and mirrored on the base in a smaller, convex form.

INSPIRED BY ARCHITECTURE

The idea for this lamp was seeded during designer Ed Ngai's trip to London last year. Two sources – an apartment building in Shoreditch with a grid motif and the Liverpool Street tube station – combined to serve as inspiration for the geometric juxtaposition in the Scaffold Lamp.
