Company

What does the name “Wooj” mean? How do I pronounce it?

Wooj is a shortened version of Sean’s (our founder) middle name, Woojin. It’s pronounced WOOje, like “luge” with a w.

When did Wooj start?

Wooj started officially in the spring of 2021.

Where are you located? Can I buy a lamp in person?

We’re located in Brooklyn, New York. We don't generally offer in-person shopping, but we do have seconds sales a few times a year, which we'll post about on Instagram.

Shipping and Returns

What are your delivery times?

Our lead time for each order is 4-7 days. If you placed your order more than 1 week ago and you haven't received an update, feel free to reach out to our support team here.

Do you ship internationally?

We currently ship within the US only. Unfortunately, shipping internationally meant products didn't deliver half the time, and cost you a fortune :( We hope to find a way to ship Wooj internationally again soon!

What is your return policy?

We will gladly accept domestic returns (with the exception of seconds and anything marked "final sale") if you get in touch within 30 days of receiving your order. Find our return policy and return instructions here.

My item arrived broken/never arrived!

We are so sorry about this! We design our products with lasting quality top of mind and hate to hear they weren’t delivered to that standard.

We’ve partnered with Route—a package protection and tracking solution—to give our customers the best possible delivery experience. Route provides low-cost shipping protection to protect your package in the event that it gets lost, stolen, or damaged while in transit.

What is Route Package Protection?

Route's Package Protection is a package protection solution that helps cover your order in the event that your order gets lost, stolen, or damaged while in transit. We know how frustrating it is to have something happen to your order, so we’ve partnered with Route to offer added assurance that you’re supported, no matter what.  Package Protection can be added during checkout.

How does Route work?

If your Route-protected order ends up lost, damaged, or stolen, Route’s expert support team helps ensure that your order gets replaced or refunded as preferred. Claims will be reviewed for approval within 1-2 business days from filing.

How does Route process refunds/reorders?

Refunds: When refunding an item, Route covers the subtotal, shipping, and taxes if the merchant has Automatic Issue Resolution enabled.  

In both cases, the Route Premium cost will not be refunded. 

Reorders: Route will reorder the items, depending on in-stock availability. Unavailable items will be refunded. Route will cover the cost of any reorders including shipping, taxes, and Route Shipping Protection.

When should I file a claim?

Marked As Delivered (Stolen)

  • Claims will be reviewed no earlier than 5 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from when it was marked delivered. 

Stuck In Transit (Lost)

  • For domestic orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 7 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update. The maximum filing time is 365 days from the order date.
  • For international orders, claims will be reviewed no earlier than 20 calendar days and no later than 30 calendar days from the last update. The maximum filing time is 365 days from the order date.

Damaged

  • Claims for damaged items require photos of the packaging and item(s) and must be filed no later than 30 calendar days from when it was marked delivered.

What if my order never arrives or is stolen?

Route definitely helps cover these instances! To protect your order against loss or theft, add Package Protection at checkout.

What if my order arrives damaged?

Route covers damage as well! To protect your order against damage that occurred during shipping, add Route Protect at checkout. 

If your order has arrived to you damaged, please take photos of the item and the packaging it arrived in to include in your claim when filing.

If your order has defects or you suspect it was damaged during manufacturing, please reach out to us and we will be happy to work with you to remedy the situation.

How do I file a claim for a lost, stolen, or damaged order?

If you insured your order with Route at checkout, you will receive a confirmation email from Route with a link to file a shipping issue. 

You can also file a shipping issue on Route’s app or via the web here. To file a claim, you will need your store order number OR Route ID number and the email address that was attached to the order.

Products

What kind of bulb can I use in my lamp?

You can replace the warm white bulbs we include with many LED bulbs.

Please note some bulbs are too tall for some lamps. Take a look at specific product page for specifics.

How do I assemble my lamp?

Scan the QR code on the product info sheet included with your order, or check out each product page for links to all assembly guides. If you're wondering about the Wavy Lamp, you're not going to break it! Press the shade all the way down until it clicks. Feel free to reach out to support@wooj.design with any questions!

How do I care for my Wooj products?

Wipe down your 3D printed products (like lamps or vases) with a lightly damp cloth. You can use a little soap if there’s a stubborn mark! Make sure your lamp is unplugged while you do this.

For the Wavy Cup, we recommend hand washing to extend its longevity, although it is technically dishwasher safe.

I need a replacement shade/base

Email us at support@wooj.design and we'll help you out! All of our Wavy Collection products go together - that means you can pair a tall, standard, or distorted shade with any color base as well as a pendant fixture.

If your lamp arrived broken, that’s on us! Reach out here with your order number and we’ll help you out.

Can I commission a custom design?

Although we’d love to be able to do this for individual people, we just don’t have that capacity right now. If you’re looking for a large order of custom pieces, or would like to join our trade program, apply here.

3D Printing & Materials

How does 3D printing work?

3D printing works via feeding plastic filament (in our case) through an extruder, with nozzles of varying sizes depending on what we’re trying to achieve. Follow us on Instagram to see behind the scenes printing and prototyping videos, and learn more about our manufacturing and materials here.

What is my ______ made of?

All of our products, with the exception of the ceramic Wavy Cup, are 3D printed from recycled plastic filament at our Brooklyn studio. You can learn about each product’s material composition on their respective product pages!

What filament do you use?

We currently use a both recycled PLA and recycled PETG.

What 3D printers do you use?

Our print farm currently consists of 11 FLSUN QQS Pro Deltas, 12 Prusa i3 MK3/S, and 3 Bambus.

What programs do you use to design Wooj products?

We use a combination of Blender, Grasshopper, and Rhino. (We also use pen and paper - the Pleat Lamp started on a sticky note!)

What are your printer settings and configuration for ______?
