The Offset Sconce shares its construction with the Pill Sconce, using the same deliberately thick layer lines made possible through custom design engineering. Where the Pill Sconce carries one continuous curve, the Offset Sconce breaks that curve into three symmetrical sections, the layer lines stepping across the surface instead of sweeping around it. The Offset Sconce carries the same production capability as the Pill Sconce, drawing attention to a feature we built specifically to make this piece possible.

Collection Details

Layers of this height don't exist in a printer's default settings, so this required some design engineering. By swapping out larger nozzles and making custom modifications to our slicer, we allowed for a design that goes beyond the printer's intended operating range. That created a new problem: light leaking out the open front of the fixture. We solved it with a press-fit cap, with no visible hardware, carrying the same offset line pattern as the body and printed on the same modified process so it reads as part of the piece.
