The Wavy Cup
Wish you could have something Wavy and 3D printing adjacent that has multiple uses, is a little more durable, and helps with goal setting? (That’s a stretch, but doesn’t everyone want to drink more water?) Wavy Cups are here! These ceramic beauties are the ideal size for a cup of coffee, matcha, rosé, or anything else you can think of. Perfect for hot or cold drinks, you could even grow a little succulent in them! They feel great to hold - those little waves, similar to the ones on our Duna vases, are grippy as well as beautiful - and are a joy to drink out of (not too thin, not too thick).
Wooj Wavy Cups come in two colors, which are both neutral with a little something special. Stone Black is a matte charcoal with some texture to it and occasional variation in the color - some appear pumice stone-like, or have a sheen like lichen or moss growing on them. White Speckle is a shiny, bright white, with blue splatter paint spots - each one is unique!
The background: Sean did some experimenting with slip casting at school (starting with 3D printed molds), and last year we set about finding someone who could produce these on a bigger scale. We got a resin 3D printer (resin allows for finer detail in molding) and Quin designed a new mold, and then we had a local ceramicist create a plaster mold for slip casting. These are the first experiment we’ve done moving beyond 3D-based production - let us know if you’d want to see a whole Wavy line of dinnerware…
Our Wavy Cups (like the rest of our products) are ethically and locally made, by people getting paid appropriately for what they do. We always want to partner with local businesses and artists for things like this - it’s super important to us to pay a fair wage, and to foster community within New York City when we can.
- Materials: Slip-cast porcelain
- Size: 3.5” D x 4” H
- Care: Hand wash recommended - you can put these in the dishwasher, but it’s more likely that they’ll break and will definitely wear faster, like any handmade ceramics! We want you to get the maximum life out of your Wavy Cups :)

I love these cups! The ceramic is thick enough where I can hold the cup even after pouring boiling hot water in for tea. The blue speckling is subtle but adds a lot to the overall aesthetic.
