The Gem Lamp’s design emerged from a series of sketches designer Christopher Merchant created while wandering through the Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

Captivated by the surrounding architecture and lush gardens, he found particular inspiration in the geometric beauty of the greenhouses. These sketches also evoked a cherished childhood memory of sunlight filtering through glass bricks at a pool, making the Gem Lamp a tangible expression of past and present inspirations.

The Gem Lamp is also available as a plug-in pendant and a sconce.

Every piece has a home waiting for it.

It starts as a spool of recycled filament in our Greenpoint studio, gets printed the week you buy it, and is hand assembled and shipped from our studio. We plan production so that everything has a home waiting for it.
