Wavy Cups Seconds
Wavy Cup seconds are here! These are ceramics that might have drips, blips, or bubbles from the glazing process, or are not quite perfectly round. You can truly barely see a difference, but we're marking them down because they're not quite *perfect*. See video for examples!
Wooj Wavy Cups come in two colors, which are both neutral with a little something special. Stone Black is a matte charcoal black with some texture to it and occasional variation in the color - some appear pumice stone-like, or have a sheen like lichen or moss growing on them. White Speckle is a shiny, bright white, with blue splatter paint spots - each one is unique! Read more about the Wavy Cups here.
Our Wavy Cups (like the rest of our products) are ethically and locally made, by people getting paid appropriately for what they do. We always want to partner with local businesses and artists for things like this - it’s super important to us to pay a fair wage, and to foster community within New York City when we can.
*Please note that our seconds are sold AS IS. We do not accept returns on these.*
- Slip cast porcelain
- Hand wash recommended
- You can put these in the dishwasher, but it’s more likely that they’ll break and will definitely wear faster, like any handmade ceramics! We want you to get the maximum life out of your Wavy Cups :)
Built Layer By Layer
Instead of using traditional manufacturing methods where material is subtracted in order to create an object, we make use of 3d printing using biologically derived materials to make our lamps. 3d printing is additive — that means material is added layer by layer to build the final object. No additional material is wasted in the process. It’s only a small step in trying to make our work as sustainable as possible
Made From Corn
We are proud to be making use of PLA, a corn based bio-plastic in our lamps. PLA constitutes the entirety of the lamp shade and the bulk of the base, and eventually can be composted.
